Copper Nanoparticles and Nanofluids-based W/O Emulsions Synthesized with Droplet Microreactors

We report a simple emulsion-based approach to form the droplet microreactors for synthesizing fine copper nanoparticles. The as-synthesized copper nanoparticles have a smaller diameter of similar to 5 nm in comparison with those prepared in conventional beaker macroreactors. The nanoparticle size increases with the volume of the droplet microreactor. The measured thermal conductivity of the emulsion agrees well with the prediction by Maxwell model.
